The magazine Science & Santé celebrates its second anniversary by looking into epigenetics

Science & Santé is the education and science news magazine issued by Inserm, with 25,000 copies published every two months. It keeps you up to date on discoveries, debates and questions concerning biomedical research. It celebrates its second anniversary with a “General Issues” article on epigenetics that will be published in the November/December issue (No. 11) of the magazine

Pregnancy and the risk of pre-eclampsia

The International Biology Congress took place on 7, 8 and 9 November inParis.

The French clinical biology association in charge of organising the congress covered the theme of pregnancy and perinatal care.

Daniel Vaiman, a research director at Inserm, presented the advantages of research into a serious complication that can occur during pregnancy: pre-eclampsia.

Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health problem that can occur after someone goes through a traumatic event like war, assault, or disaster.

Physiological consequences of the practice of ultra-trail

From August 28  till  Septembre 2,2012,  Inserm researchers are going to analyze 40 runners of Mont Blanc’s ultra-trail, a long-distance race (166 kms and 9,600 metres of positive height gain in 24 hours for the best)

A lab has been rebuilt at Chamonix for this event.

19th European congress on obesity, lyon, 9 to 12 may 2012

After Istanbul last year, the 19th European Congress on Obesity (ECO2012) will be held this year in Lyon from 9 to 12 May.

Brain week, 12 to 18 march 2012

“Brain Week” will take place from 12 to 18 March in France and simultaneously in 62 countries throughout the world. Inserm has made a press kit downloadable with a selection of contacts for interviews and reports, as well as the latest discoveries by Inserm researchers on the subject.
